A Child's Right to

Nurse Act

Dear Breastfeeding Supporters,

Saturday, April 9, the Senate adjourned their Regular Session without taking up our House Bill 2450 for consideration.  Thus the bill died quietly at the stroke of midnight.

We fought hard to get our bill moved up on the Senate's agenda to be sure that it would have its chance to be heard.  However, we never were really able to get the Senate Leadership behind the bill and, even in the final hours, we were still hearing that the Senate Leaders were questioning the bill's necessity.

We are counting on you to help us educate all State Senators throughout the year as to why breastfeeding is so important for our children and for society, why legislation such as House Bill 2450 is good public policy, and why they need to get behind it.

Thank you for your support.  Let us know if you have any questions or ideas.

Sincerely,
